This Portrait Mask is by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Raymond Shaw. The mask is hand-carved in red cedar and painted in red, black, and pale blue acrylic. The mask has been finished with black horsehair.

While Raymond was carving this mask, he was inspired by an older Portrait mask he had seen. The last image shows Raymond holding the mask.

Without the horse hair the mask measures about 11 inches or 28 centimeters high, 9 inches or 23 centimeters, and 6 inches or 15 centimeters deep. Including the horse hair the mask measures approximately 36 inches or 91 1/2 centimeters high, 14 inches or 35 1/2 centimeters wide, and 6 inches or 15 centimeters deep.
